ResourceLink Aurora recognised by HMRC for filing RTI submissions by EDI

ResourceLink Aurora first commercial payroll software to be recognised by HMRC for successfully demonstrating filing RTI submissions by EDI.

NorthgateArinso has announced that ResourceLink Aurora, it’s fully integrated and web-based HR and Payroll solution, has received the first official recognition from HMRC for passing Real Time Information (RTI) checks using the EDI service, reinforcing its position as the market leading solution for HR and payroll services.

The new RTI legislation is designed to support improvements to the PAYE system, making it more accurate for taxpayers and easier for employers and HMRC to administer. NGA's robust processes and quality-control meant that it could adapt ResourceLink Aurora quickly but accurately to encompass RTI requirements.

The recognition was awarded after NGA successfully demonstrated that it could produce the following RTI files:

Full Payment Submission (FPS)
Employer Payment Summary (EPS)
Employer Alignment Submission (EAS)
In addition, a range of payroll calculation scenarios have been submitted to satisfy a range of general payroll tests.

Nick Clarke, Product Manager at NorthgateArinso said: "“We are thrilled that ResourceLink Aurora is the first HR and payroll solution to be recognised by HMRC for RTI checks using EDI, providing further reassurance to our customers during a time of major change. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes alongside our customers to ensure that ResourceLink Aurora quickly and accurately adapts to new RTI requirements. Recent research we conducted suggested that there was some concern surrounding RTI, but we have been working with HMRC to help iron these out and are delighted to be the first company to receive recognition.”

NGA worked in collaboration with the HMRC and invited customers to be a part of the preparation for RTI. One of the participants, Laura Cunniff, People & Pay Manager at Countryside Council for Wales said "Working with NGA on the design of the software changes meant that we could plan for RTI more effectively and ensured our data quality and business processes were ready. Throughout development, we were able to test the payroll processes and enhancements to the software in advance, which meant we always felt part of the solution. We're really pleased that NGA brought us into the pilot phase and are confident that we are in the best place to make the transition as smooth as possible"
