Gatwick Airport transforms HR and payroll services with NorthgateArinso

UK’s second largest airport signs five-year deal following break-out from BAA

Gatwick Airport has signed a 5-year deal with NorthgateArinso to manage its HR transactional and payroll service, as part of the biggest transformation in its history.

With the London Olympics taking place next year, the London-based airport, which serves 33 million passengers a year and hosts the busiest single runway in the world, has launched a £1bn investment programme to transform its service. It chose NorthgateArinso to manage HR processes, systems and services for its 2,500 employees as part of its commitment to exceptional staff service.

The airport is significantly extending its services through increased shopping facilities, more pier service and more flexible check-ins. NorthgateArinso will provide recruitment process outsourcing to ensure that the airport is attracting and engaging with candidates of the highest calibre to service the millions of passengers that use the airport each year.

Tina Oakley, HR Director at Gatwick Airport, described the appointment of NorthgateArinso as an important step in providing outstanding service to its employees: “Over the next 10 years we want Gatwick to become the airport of choice, not only in London but in Europe, delivering world-class service to our passengers.

“As part of this, it is crucial that our staff are happy and engaged in a positive working environment. NorthgateArinso is well known for providing excellent service to employers and was is to provide the full range of services we need to deliver this to our employees.”

James Ronksley, Business Development Director at NorthgateArinso, added: “As the second-largest airport in the UK, Gatwick makes tremendous demands of its people and the related HR and payroll processes have got to be robust and cost-effective.

“Gatwick Airport employs 2,500 people across a range of services with different levels of responsibility. Our aim is to provide the best possible service to all of Gatwick’s employees and the HR team alike.”
