Argos stocks up in hosted payroll from NorthgateArinso

Eight-year deal enables better allocation of staff between stores

Argos has signed a new contract with NorthgateArinso to process payroll for the retailer’s 30,000+ employees. The service will be hosted on NorthgateArinso’s ResourceLink platform, and it will be managed by Argos’ own payroll team.

The eight-year contract also incorporates a self-service interface. The tool will initially enable managers in distribution centres, call centres and the head office to process adjustments to pay, and to monitor absence. The second phase of the project will see the self-service technology deployed to stores, giving store managers the same capabilities.

“Using self-service technology, managers will have the information to help them make decisions about redeploying staff to neighbouring outlets during busy periods.” said Stuart Hassall, Head of Information Systems at Home Retail Group. “The tool will keep track of who is working where, and will give control over budgeting for staff working in different stores on multiple contracts.”
