The NGA UK Graduate Scheme

The scheme itself is a two year, flexible rotational program within the SAP HR IT Consultancy area. You will combine extensive on the job training with structured classroom based courses, which range from basic skills such as presentation and consultation techniques to a SAP bootcamp.
So, what else should you expect when you join our graduate scheme? Well, from day one you will quickly become part of any project team, taking on vital working roles and accountability for whatever you are tasked with.
Due to the nature of our work, this is not the general rigid program that other companies offer. We work all over the world with a wide range of clients. For this reason our program is flexible, with work rotations being anywhere from only a few weeks to several months.
Your opportunity to shine
As a leading provider of global HR solutions we are only looking for the best.
You must have at least a 2:1 or better in any subject and be a natural self starter. You will need to be flexible and open minded with a desire to learn. On top of this you must have the ability to travel, as we are a global company and so you could be working anywhere in the UK or even the world. You must also be able to work independently and deliver work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining the highest levels of quality, which we as a company pride ourselves upon.
As with any global company we will expect only the best from you, but in return we offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s best technical SAP consultants, which will allow you to enhance your current skill set and develop new ones too.
You also must have the right to live and work within the EU to be eligible to apply to the graduate scheme.
What is involved in the role?
You will be working within the SAP Consultancy field, helping to implement technical HR systems into large global companies. With this in mind the possible roles are varied with everything from Business Analysis to technical roles such as Data Migration and Configuration. You will move around several times during the two years largely depending on business needs, but we will endeavour to place you in roles which will utilise your strengths. You must also be pro-active and take charge of developing your career path as there are no limits as to how high you can go.
At the end of the two years you will sit down with our graduate manager and decide on which line of work you wish to follow.
If you still need convincing, why not browse through the profiles of our current and recent graduates.
As with any leading global company we will expect only the best from you, but in return we offer:
- £25K starting salary
- 22 days holiday + 3 company days
- Premium level private healthcare
- Paid travel
- Life assurance
- Company pension scheme
- Bonus
- Flexible benefits scheme
Working for NorthgateArinso
Working as a consultant at NGA is a wide and varied job. You can be on a project for a few days or sometimes months to years. You may end up working for many clients or simply working with one. It is hard to describe a normal working life at NGA as your working life is always changing and always different. It is an exciting working life to lead and without doubt you get out of it what you put in.
One of the best things about working for the company is the clients you can work for and the people you work with. As with all our NGA project teams, they support each other and deliver the very best results time after time. You will never be sat there alone and unsure of how to do something, as there is always someone around to help you out in those tough situations.
Working for NGA you will always be encouraged to try new aspects of work as well as being supported to better yourself. Each new project or piece of work provides new and exciting opportunities for you to try your hand at.
As well as the on the job training and classroom training that we offer, we also have monthly skillbyte sessions which are designed and run by NGA consultants. Each skillbyte focuses on a different aspect of SAP HR IT or project lifecycles and provides an excellent way to gain an overview of what roles your colleagues work in. On top of this NGA also has an extensive online training library which is available to all employees as and when they wish.
Once a year we also have a company kick off meeting to get all the consultants together to discuss the various aspects of our business and how we are going to progress during the year ahead. This is finished off with an afternoon and evening of social activities which all the consultants and managers partake in.
We are not one of these global companies where you will become just another employee. You will get to know other consultants and management around the client sites and our home office. You may also find yourself socialising with many of them after a hard days work. You will see many of our senior managers in and around the office. So, if you join our scheme, don’t be shy go and talk to them. They will offer help and guidance as they are interested in your success.

Do I need to live in London?
Initially yes, for the first two years at least, but as we are a consultancy firm we have contractors that live all over the UK.

No not at all. Some of our previous graduates took degrees in subjects such as art or business.
What hours will I work?
Our normal operating hours are 9 – 6, with an hour for lunch, but obviously there may well be times when you may be required to work longer. At the same time you may have quieter days too. It all depends on the business needs of the project you are assigned to.
What support will I receive during the program?
We have our own Graduate manager who you can go to for help and advice as well as a buddy system that puts you in contact with past graduates. As well as this you will also have your project team and project manager who will offer help and guidance on the client sites.
Will I be required to travel?
We deal with clients based all over the UK and world so travel is expected if the role requires it.
Do I have to pay for my own travel?
No we don’t expect you to do that. Because you will be classed as home based, we cover all travel costs to your place of work.
Is there a probation period?
At present the probation period is 6 months.
What happens if I do not like the role I have been placed in?
We will endeavour to place you in a role that is suited to both your skills and personality, but we understand that sometimes this may not work out. Firstly we have to be mindful of the business needs and our resources, so we would actively encourage you to give each role a go before looking to move away from it. If we can we would look for other suitable roles to place you in.
